The Switzerland Report - Day 11

|| Aug 7 ||

Findings: Scary gondola

Food: Sausage on the mountain, leftovers

Around mid-day, we took the ferry to Vitznau and hiked over to a century-old gondola that took us up to another mountain restaurant called Wissifluh. The gondola had a completely horrifying configuration. Besides being 100 years old there were only two supporting poles, one at the bottom and one at the top of a very high, steep climb. The cable had ZERO supports for the ENTIRE ride. It pretty much went 100% vertical on the last quarter and the visible slump in the line didn't add to any sense of security.

And here is what you look and feel like while riding it (if you are Chris).

We made it to the restaurant and delivered the mail left in the gondola at the bottom of the mountain for the next person to bring up. The family that runs the hotel/restaurant/farm at the top were busy harvesting hay so there was only one thing on the menu, homemade sausage and salad, deee-lish!

Another gorgeous walk down, a dip in the lake, home for leftovers...

...then asleep in our cocoons.

  1. I would of looked just like Chris going up that gondola...that is... if I would of even gotten in it. Yikes!
